Super Drive is not a racing game. Load it up expecting a career mode, time trials, opponents or multiplayer and you'll spend ten minutes hunting through menus for something that isn't there.
It's a free-roam city driving sandbox. You pick a supercar, you get dropped into a large open city, and then you do whatever you want. No timer, no cops, no objectives. That's the entire design, and knowing it up front saves you a lot of confusion.
This guide covers the complete control scheme — including two keys the game never tells you about — plus the full 7-car lineup, what's actually in the game, and one setting that can wipe your progress.
What Is Super Drive?
Super Drive is a free 3D car driving simulator by developer G55.co, released around September 2021. It's built with Unity/WebGL and distributed through GameDistribution.com, which is why it turns up on so many different gaming portals.
You choose from 7 cars — ranging from a Bugatti Bolide hypercar to a red Audi RS6 wagon — and drive them around a large, detailed city map featuring tall skyscrapers, long bridges, and rivers you can drive straight into. The map is fully open: no barriers, no police, no fail state.
Every car is unlocked from your first load. There's no grinding, no currency, and nothing to earn.
Complete Controls
This is the part most listings get half-right. Here's the full scheme:
Action | Key |
Accelerate | W or Up arrow |
Brake / reverse | S or Down arrow |
Steer left | A or Left arrow |
Steer right | D or Right arrow |
Slow down / brake | Spacebar |
Nitro boost | F |
Slow motion | G |
Change camera | C |
Menu navigation | Mouse |
The two keys the game never tells you about
F is nitro. Every car in the game has it, and nothing on screen mentions it. If Super Drive has felt sluggish to you, this is why — you've been driving without boost the whole time.
G is slow motion. This is the game's most overlooked feature. It slows time down, which turns an ordinary jump off a bridge into something you can actually watch and control. If you're making stunt clips or trying to land a big jump cleanly, slow motion is the single most useful key on the board.
C cycles through 4 camera modes. Chase view, closer view, bumper-style, and a wider angle. Worth cycling early to find the one that suits how you drive — a tighter camera makes precision easier, a wider one makes speed feel faster.
Getting Started
The menu flow is simple but not signposted well:
Click "START GAME" in the centre of the screen.
Browse cars using the arrow buttons on the left and right sides of the car-selection screen.
Click "SELECT" in the middle of the screen to confirm your choice.
Once you're driving, click "CHANGE CAR" to return to the selection screen at any time.
You don't need to finish anything before switching cars. Change as often as you like.
What's Actually In the Game
Being clear about this saves a lot of confusion:
There is: a large free-roam city, 7 cars (from a Bugatti hypercar down to an Audi wagon), nitro, slow motion, 4 camera modes, ragdoll pedestrian physics, and driving physics that are genuinely fun to push.
There isn't: a career mode, time trials, online multiplayer, racing against AI, car customisation, upgrades, tuning, unlockables, weather effects, or police pursuit.
Go in treating it as a sandbox and it's a good time. Go in expecting a progression system and you'll be disappointed within five minutes.
The Cars: All 7 in Super Drive
Super Drive gives you 7 cars, and here's the best part: every single one is unlocked from your first load. No money system, no coins, no unlock grind, nothing to buy. You open the game and the whole garage is already yours.
Here's the full lineup:
# | Car | Type | How it looks in-game |
1 | BMW M5 | Super sedan | Gloss black with dark grey alloys — the most "normal" car here, and the one that feels most like a real road car |
2 | Bugatti Bolide | Hypercar | Matte black with electric blue accents and a huge "W16" graphic down the flank. The wildest-looking car in the game by a mile |
3 | Lamborghini Huracán STO | Supercar | Blue with orange trim, big rear wing and "STO" lettering on the door. The only Lamborghini in the game |
4 | Audi RS6 Avant | Performance wagon | Bright red estate on silver five-spokes — yes, a station wagon, and it's genuinely great |
5 | BMW Z4 | Roadster | Orange with a silver soft-top roof. The only convertible in the lineup |
6 | Honda NSX | Hybrid supercar | Matte black with gold wheels, red brake calipers and a big rear wing. Easily the best-looking car in the game |
7 | Chevrolet Corvette C8 | Widebody supercar | White with a Pandem widebody kit — flared arches, deep side skirts and a tall rear wing |
It's not all supercars
Worth pointing out, because the game's own description oversells it: this isn't seven hypercars. You get one hypercar (the Bolide), three proper supercars (Huracán STO, NSX, Corvette C8), and then three fast road cars — an M5 sedan, an RS6 wagon and a Z4 roadster.
That mix is actually a strength. The RS6 Avant is a red estate car and it's one of the most fun things to throw around the city, which is a sentence you don't get to write often.
The pick of the bunch
If you just want the coolest car and don't want to browse: the Honda NSX. Matte black over gold wheels is a genuinely brilliant combination and it looks sharper on the road than anything else here.
If you want maximum spectacle, take the Bugatti Bolide — it barely looks like a car, more like something that escaped from a racing simulator, and the blue-on-black W16 livery is unmissable.
Browsing and switching
Use the left and right arrow buttons on either side of the selection screen to flick through all 7.
Click SELECT in the middle to take the one you're looking at.
Once you're out driving, hit CHANGE CAR to jump straight back.
Flick through the whole lineup before you commit — it takes about ten seconds, and since nothing is locked you can swap as often as you like with no penalty.
Two things worth knowing
They all drive about the same. This is the honest truth about Super Drive's garage. The Bolide should feel like a different species to the RS6 wagon, and it doesn't — nothing corners noticeably sharper or pulls noticeably harder. You're picking a look, not a handling profile. So choose whichever one you think looks best and don't overthink it.
There's no customisation at all. No paint options, no wheels, no spoilers, no tuning. What you see on the selection screen is exactly what you drive — including the Corvette's Pandem kit and the NSX's gold wheels, which are baked in rather than options you unlock.
Nitro is on every car too, so no vehicle has a speed edge there either.
How to Actually Enjoy a Game With No Objectives
A sandbox with no goals can feel aimless for the first five minutes. Here's what the game is genuinely good at:
Set your own stunt challenges. The city has bridges, ramps, and elevation changes. Try landing a jump from a specific bridge, or clearing a gap you shouldn't be able to clear. Nitro on approach, slow motion mid-air.
Use slow motion as a replay tool. Trigger G at the peak of a jump and you effectively get a cinematic camera on your own stunt. Combined with the C camera cycle, this is the closest the game has to a replay system.
Explore the map properly. The city is genuinely large, with rivers you can drive into and areas well off the main roads. There's more of it than the opening street suggests.
Practise high-speed control. With no traffic and no cops, the map is effectively a huge test track. If you want to work on cornering at speed without something ending your run, this is a good environment for it.
Chain nitro carefully. Boost gives you speed the steering can't always handle. Use it on straights and long bridges rather than into corners, or you'll be swimming.
Important: Your Progress Lives in Browser Cache
This one catches people out.
Super Drive saves game data in your browser's cache. If you clear your browser cache, cookies, or site data, your progress is gone. There's no account, no cloud save, and no recovery option.
If you've been playing regularly and you use a browser-cleaning tool or clear data often, be aware that Super Drive's save is one of the things that gets deleted.
Common Problems
My car feels slow. You're probably not using nitro. Press F.
I can't find the race mode. There isn't one. Super Drive is free-roam only.
All the cars feel the same. They largely do. The differences between vehicles in this game are mostly cosmetic.
I drove into the river. That's allowed — the map has no invisible walls. Reverse out or use "CHANGE CAR" to reset.
My saved progress disappeared. Your browser cache was cleared. Unfortunately there's no way to restore it.
Keyboard doesn't respond. Click once directly on the game window first. Browser games need focus before they register keystrokes.
It runs poorly on my laptop. This is a Unity WebGL build with a large detailed map, so it's heavier than a simple HTML5 game. Close other tabs, especially video ones, and expect the first load to be the slowest.
Frequently asked questions
Is Super Drive free?
Yes — free in a browser, no download or account required.
Who made it, and when?
Developer G55.co, released around September 2021.
How many cars are there?
7, and every one is available from your first load — there's no unlock system or in-game currency.
Which cars are in Super Drive?
BMW M5, Bugatti Bolide, Lamborghini Huracán STO, Audi RS6 Avant, BMW Z4, Honda NSX, and a Pandem widebody Chevrolet Corvette C8.
